The ANZAC Day Challenge is an annual representative touch football series hosted by Townsville Touch Football (TTF), honouring the sacrifices of Australian and New Zealand service members while strengthening the ties between the Defence and touch football communities. Played at Queens Park, North Ward, the event features three high-intensity matches between the Townsville Saints and the North Queensland Defence Touch (NQDT) Crocs across Men’s, Women’s, and Over 30s divisions.

At the conclusion of the series, the winning entity is awarded the ANZAC Day Challenge trophy, a unique commissioned piece that carries deep meaning and significance. More than just a sporting prize, the trophy stands as a symbol of service, sacrifice, mateship, and the enduring bond between the Defence and civilian communities. In that way, it reflects the true purpose of the event itself — not simply to determine a winner on the field, but to honour the ANZAC spirit in a meaningful and lasting way.
