The Colliers Shield might be over for another year, but that doesn't mean the fun stops. Townsville Touch Football's Summer Season is right around the corner, and we've got grades to suit all ages and abilities.
Mixed touch footy is back, and this season you have the choice of Monday or Wednesday nights (or if you're feeling fit, why not both?!) to enter your team. Both nights feature graded competitions, so there will be spot for you regardless of your ability (or lack of).
If mixed touch isn't your thing, the TTF social (and not-so-social) men's and women's competitions are played in conjunction with the Wednesday night mixed competitions.
For those aged 16 and under, Townsville Junior Touch Football's summer season gets underway from Thursday 19th August. Age groups start from 7 & Under (must turn 6 years old in 2021), and continue until 16 & Under, in both boys and girls divisions.
Monday competitions will start from August 23rd, while Wednesdays will tap-off on August 25th. Both nights will play through til the second week in December, weather permitting.
Team nomination fees for mixed, men's, and women's competitions is $550, though a late fee of $100 will apply if you don't pay before your first match.
All teams in the men's, women's, and mixed competitions will also need to nominate a "duty referee", who may be called upon to referee if required.
A referees course will be held on Sunday 22 August for new referees. To enrol or find out more, visit ttra.org.au/start.
