Weather Woes: Monday and Tuesday Touch Football First Round Matches Cancelled

The first rounds of Townsville Touch Football's Monday Mixed and Tuesday Over 30's touch football competitions, scheduled for 17 and 18 March 2025 respectively, have been cancelled due to recent severe weather conditions at Queens Park.

TTF has announced the cancellation following continuous heavy rainfall over the past 48 hours, rendering the playing fields unsafe for use. Adhering to its commitment to player and official safety, TTF's decision aligns with our Extreme Weather Guidelines to prevent injuries and field damage.

The scheduled games were eagerly anticipated as the season openers for both the mixed and over 30's competitions. However, the recent deluge has saturated Queens Park, compromising the fields' safety and playability.

TTF's Extreme Weather Guidelines are available here - https://townsvilletouch.au/info/weather.

TTF advises all teams that the 2025 season calendar for both competitions will not be extended to make up for the lost rounds, and will instead commence each competition next Monday and Tuesday, respectively.

Participants, including players and officials, are urged to stay informed about the latest developments, fixture updates, and weather advisories by regularly visiting the TTF website - townsvilletouch.com.au. The site, coupled with TTF's social media channels, remains the only official source for all announcements and updates directly concerning the competitions and venue conditions.
