In Men’s 1st Grade, Brothers punched their ticket to a sixth consecutive Grand Final with an 8–3 win over Redskins, continuing their dominant run despite a couple of late-season stumbles. Frogs advanced to the Preliminary Final after edging out Sharks 6–5 in a fiercely contested Elimination Final. The match was played at a high standard, but the intensity boiled over during the second half in an incident that has led to breach notices being issued to both teams and at least one referral to TTF’s Disciplinary Tribunal. Frogs will now meet Redskins this Sunday for the final spot in the decider.
Rum Runners were the big story in Women’s 1st Grade, edging out Redskins 7–6 in extra time to keep their dreams of a tenth straight title alive. A clutch try from club stalwart Rylie Dixon sealed the win in a match that lived up to its billing. Their opponents this week will be Frogs, who were narrowly beaten 4–3 by Brothers in a gripping Major Semi Final. The Grand Final berth already secured by Brothers marks their second consecutive appearance in the decider and puts them just one win away from ending Rum Runners' long-standing premiership streak.
In Men’s 2nd Grade, Rum Runners advanced directly to the Grand Final with a 7–5 win over Jots-Tigers, while Brothers kept their hopes alive by knocking out Redskins 7–6. Reigning premiers Jots-Tigers booked another Grand Final appearance in Men’s 3rd Grade, defeating Crocs 7–6 in a one-point thriller. Redskins were too strong for Sharks in the Men’s 4th Grade Major Semi, while Jots-Tigers kept their campaign alive with a 3–2 extra-time win over Frogs Green. It’s now all-or-nothing for Sharks and Jots-Tigers, with a Grand Final spot hanging in the balance.
In Men’s 5th Grade, Rum Runners held off Brothers 7–6 to secure a Grand Final spot, while Frogs powered past Redskins 7–5. Brothers now get a second shot at Frogs, and neither side will want to leave anything to chance.
The remaining women’s divisions also delivered plenty of drama and tight contests.

Sharks Blue proved far too strong for Sharks Black in Women’s 4th Grade, earning a week off and a direct path to the Grand Final. Redskins took care of business against Jots-Tigers and now have one final hurdle against Sharks Black to earn their shot at silverware.
Jots-Tigers edged out Brothers in the Women’s 5th Grade Major Semi and will now watch on as Brothers attempt to bounce back against Redskins Red, who eliminated Rum Runners in yet another close contest. Expect fireworks when those two meet again this Sunday.
And in Women’s 6th Grade, Brothers White upset top-ranked Jots-Tigers in extra time to book a Grand Final spot, while Frogs Black ended Frogs Green’s season with a dominant 5–1 win. Both teams have plenty of momentum and just one more chance to make it to the big dance.
With just one week to go before the 2025 Grand Finals, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Preliminary Finals take centre stage this Sunday — and for every team still alive, it’s now or never.
