Townsville Touch Football (TTF) will host a Foundation Coach accreditation course at Queens Park on Sunday 7th September 2025, delivered by Queensland Touch Football Development Officer Rhys Bevan — and best of all, it’s free for current TTF members.
All sessions are held at TTF’s Queens Park clubhouse and playing fields on Paxton Street, North Ward.
Why Get Accredited?
Becoming an accredited coach is the perfect way to develop your understanding of the game, gain confidence in leading a team, and contribute to the sport in a meaningful way. It also unlocks opportunities to coach at local, regional, and even higher representative levels.
Under the current Competition Rules for the INTERSPORT Townsville Juniors competition, all coaches must hold a current Touch Football Australia coaching accreditation (Foundation or higher). Coaches who do not complete the course on time will not be permitted to coach a junior team this season, with the only allowance being for unaccredited coaches up to and including the first scheduled coaching course of the season.
Foundation Coach Accreditation – Entry-Level
The Foundation Coach accreditation is the starting point in TFA’s national coaching pathway. It’s aimed at new coaches and focuses on the fundamentals of coaching a touch football team — including how to plan, deliver, and review training sessions, as well as introducing basic game concepts and strategies. You don’t need prior coaching experience to get started, and the course is designed to be practical and beginner-friendly rather than overwhelming.
